| Statement | OVERCAST SOUND is an exploration of the deep, atmospheric side of electronic music - weaving together echos of voices, textured field recordings, and sweeping cinematic chords - all held together in a rhythmic framework. Michael Pettit combines his background in club based electronic music with Jamie Drouin's sound-art practice, creating a signature evocative sound that moves freely between ambient, dub and techno. Through improvised performances OVERCAST SOUND re-imagine their studio tracks in new and unexpected ways, creating a personal and intimate musical experience. Although not easily categorized, they succeed in engaging the listener, whether at home or on the dance floor allowing the audio to shift the senses of place, space and time.
